Jean Desportes was an artilleryman, serial number 1141. Dead for France on July 27, 1917, at the age of 25. With his “war diary” as my only guide, I follow in his footsteps; I retrace his path. His words confront the landscapes that I traverse. Encounters emerge, here and there.
All these places can still “speak”.
